Youth Actors Company

When children explore the arts, it enhances the development of many skills such as communication, problem-solving, fine motor, social, and emotional skills as well as encourages self-expression and creativity. Osceola Arts seeks to support and inspire through the Young Actors Company.

 

The Youth Actors Company provides the opportunity for kids to come together to learn more about the arts and to hone their craft with professionals and experts in their field. Osceola Arts offers the Young Actors Company program to performers of ages 5 - 17. This troupe will work closely with their cast to put together a spectacular show within their age category.

 

Age categories include:

  • Ages 5-8

  • Ages 9-12

  • Ages 13-17

 

Members of the Young Actors Company will learn basic theater techniques such as stage direction, movement, dance, vocal performance, and acting skills while fostering creativity, confidence, and teamwork. Each session will end in a weekend of performances from each age category.

Claudia Fain

Youth Actors Company

Claudia Fain is tickled pink to be teaching at Osceola Arts! Being a military brat, Claudia has traveled and lived in many places. She holds a music theatre degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Claudia’s next goal is to be the female version of Mr. Rogers, so teaching kids theatre has always been a huge passion of hers! "You can think about things and make-believe. All you have to do is think and they'll grow."-Mr. Rogers

Elijah Gragg

Youth Actors Company

After touring the world with The Grand Illusions of Rob Lake for several years as the Chief Illusion Technician, Elijah is excited to be planting roots in Central Florida! Besides touring the world doing magic, Elijah has had the honor of Directing, Stage Managing and Performing in many shows in both Central Florida and all over Oklahoma. Elijah also served as the Cast Manager/ and Lead Performer at Frontier City Theme Park in OKC, OK for 3 years as well as performing at Darien Lake Theme Park in Buffalo, NY all under Silvertree Productions. Elijah is ECSTATIC to be serving as the Show Director, and Young Techs Company Director here at Osceola Arts. Elijah’s goal in teaching at Osceola Arts is, to make sure he gives each student every tool they need to succeed in their future in the theatre industry!

Mary Mackin

Youth Actors Company

Mary is thrilled you be a part of the Osceola Arts Education Team! She is originally from Castle Rock, Colorado, and attended Oklahoma State University studying Multimedia Journalism and Theatre Performance. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Arts and Culture Management from the University of Denver to continue to pursue her passions within the arts. Mary has performed in theatres in Oklahoma, Colorado, and Florida, and has been a part of Walt Disney World entertainment. She is so excited to be a part of this team to encourage and inspire the young artists!

Jeremy Seghers

Young Actors Company

Jeremy is an independent producer and director known for staging immersive theater in site-specific environments. These credits include: A Clockwork Orange (DRIP), Equus (The Acre Orlando), Dracula (Carmine Boutique), This Is Our Youth (Macbeth Studio), Saint Joan (The Fred Stone Theatre) and The Bacchae (various locations). Other Central Florida credits: The Story of My Life and John & Jen (The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol), A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas (The Garden Theatre), Red Black and Ignorant and Mr. Burns, a post-electric play (Valencia College). Jeremy believes that theatre can be anywhere, and is very excited to create outdoor, site-specific work with this group of talented young artists. 

Paul Smith

Improv

Paul Smith got his start performing in theater in 2004. He has always gravitated toward comedy. He's done standup in both the Atlanta and Orlando area and has been performing improv comedy since 2014. He produced a season of Unplanned Improv, Southeastern University's improv TV show, was a player in the NITWITS, Newnan Theater Company's improv troupe, was a member of the Orlando Humor Mill, Orlando's Premier Sketch Comedy Troupe and is the creator of Diversity & Dave, Osceola County's only improv troupe. In addition to all of this, he believes children need an outlet to be themselves free of any judgment. Improv comedy gives them an opportunity to learn about themselves, how to work well with others as well as builds confidence and self-esteem.
