Art in Public Places: Paula Armas at Hart Memorial Library

Grisel Negron

Time & Location

December 16 - February 11 Hart Memorial Library in Kissimmee, FL

About the Event

Osceola Arts is proud to present the artworks of Paula Armas at Hart Memorial Library as part of the Art in Public Places Program.

Based in Kissimmee, FL, Armas is particularly interested in identity and the human condition. Utilizing the portrait and the self-portrait, Armas delves into her own mental health and upbringing. Themes of displacement and isolation appear in her artwork, informed by her experience immigrating to two different countries.

"I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere, but my art gave me a place that was only mine, where I could express myself freely."

The exhibition is on view at Hart Memorial Library (211 E Dakin Ave) from December 16 to February 11 during library hours.

The Art in Public Places program aims to fill our Osceola County communities with local art in the public libraries and Kissimmee City Hall. If interested in showing work through this program, please apply at www.osceolaarts.org/art-in-public-places.
