About the Event
Osceola Arts is proud to present original artworks by Marcella Simon at Poinciana Library through the Art in Public Places program.
Marcella Peralta Simon is a retired Latinx grandmother, splitting her time between Cambridge, UK and Kissimmee, Florida. She has been a diplomat, university professor, and instructional designer. She writes poetry and short fiction. Her artwork has been featured in Smoky Blue Literary and Arts Magazine, Beyond Words Literary Magazine, Tofu Ink Arts Press, Persimmon Tree, and The Acentos Review. Simon derives from her Latin American roots and background in social activism and cultural education to create commentary on the tribulation and joy of the human condition. She also wanders fens and swamps looking for nests and other beginnings.
The Solivita Artisan Guild is an organization located in Poinciana aimed at fostering artists and their talents by sponsoring exhibitions, workshops, and seminars. Its mission is to enrich the lives of the community through art and emphasize the importance of creativity.
The exhibition is on view at the Poinciana Library (101 N Doverplum Ave) from December 2 to January 30 during library hours.
The Art in Public Places program aims to fill our Osceola County communities with local art in the public libraries and Kissimmee City Hall. If interested in showing work through this program, please apply here.
