Sabrina Dessalines

"Thrive" Location 3834 W Vine St, Kissimmee, FL 34741 As we step up to Thrive Studios, take this in for a moment. This mural by Sabrina Dessalines, created through the Osceola Arts ARTisNOW Murals program, immediately sets the tone for this space. Starting from the left and moving across, you’ll notice how the entire wall is alive with color and movement. The large-scale florals and rich greenery are inspired by the natural environment here in Central Florida, but they’re elevated bold, vibrant, and full of energy. The birds you see moving through the piece help guide your eye, creating a sense of motion and freedom that carries throughout the mural. Now, let’s shift over to the corner this is where everything centers. Take a look at the portrait. Her eyes are closed, her head tilted upward, fully embracing a moment of joy. There’s a sense of release here, like she’s letting go and stepping into her full self. It’s calm, but at the same time, incredibly powerful. Notice how the colors move across her face and body. Those layers aren’t just stylistic they speak to identity, culture, and lived experience. It’s a reminder that we’re all made up of different pieces that come together to form who we are. What Sabrina has done here is bring together nature and human expression in a way that feels seamless. This mural is about growth, about transformation, and about finding beauty in that process. Before we head to the next stop, take one more look. The longer you sit with it, the more it gives back.
