"United in Rhythm"
Located: at 114 Broadway Kissimmee FL 34741
Here at this location We’re standing before this mural titled United in Rhythm by internationally acclaimed artist Edwin “Don Rhyme-x” Sepúlveda.
This mural captures the cultural heartbeat of Kissimmee through Bomba, an Afro-Caribbean musical tradition passed down through generations. On the left side of the composition stands Jesús Cepeda Brenes, known as El Tambor Mayor, honoring the renowned Cepeda Family of Puerto Rico, guardians of the Bomba legacy. His presence anchors the scene, while musicians and community members of all ages gather in celebration. The percussion feels almost alive, carrying ancestral energy as children learn rhythm beside elders who have safeguarded this tradition for decades.
Don Rhyme-x’s signature geometric patterns move through the figures like musical notation, creating rhythm, structure, and flow across the wall. Rich, vibrant colors transform the surface into a visual symphony, reinforcing the message that unity is found in the harmony of diverse voices.
Set within the historic downtown corridor, this mural celebrates the Afro-Caribbean traditions that continue to shape Kissimmee’s cultural identity and honors the vibrant diversity of the community today.
