About the Event
Osceola Arts is proud to present Time Stands Still: Seeing More of What Surrounds Me, an exhibition of photographs by Madison Wilkins at Hart Memorial Library as part of the Art in Public Places Program.
Madison Wilkins has dabbled in photography for many years. Originally working with a 35mm film camera and now a digital SLR camera, Wilkins continues her photography journey despite life’s curveballs: the theft of her equipment, a battle with cancer, and a coma.
Wilkins is interested in preserving moments, made precious by their ephemerality. “The ultimate action of making time stand still is a photograph. So much is happening all around us with every precious moment. So many of which simply pass us by going unnoticed. Through my work I aim to capture those fleeting instances of beauty or excitement. Maybe share a peaceful or quiet moment of reflection, but always being aware of a possible spontaneous occurrence. I hope these little snippets of time can transport you, however briefly, to another place and mindset.”
This exhibition is on view at Hart Memorial Library (211 E Dakin Ave) from May8th to July 3 during library open hours.
The Art in Public Places program aims to fill our Osceola County communities with local art in the public libraries and Kissimmee City Hall. If interested in showing work through this program, please apply at www.osceolaarts.org/art-in-public-places.
