MARCOS CARRASCO
THE ESSENTIAL AND THE TAMED
The Essential and the Tamed - Works by Marcos Carrasco on display in the Studio Gallery from September 5 through October 29.
After using animation, experimental film, and CGI as his main tools, multidisciplinary artist Marcos Carrasco shifted away from computer-generated art and went back to the basics, to the essentials, to sculpting and painting. During this time which began in 2020, he established relationships that influenced his new artistic production. These people (and one dog) became his new friends and family. Relationships that tamed his heart.
In The Essential and the Tamed, Carrasco takes the audience on an intimate journey into his introspection and re-emergence as an artist in the United States.
Carrasco is a graduate of Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, MFA graduate from the Savanah College of Art and Design and the University of Central Florida. He is currently, a Studio Artist at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, Florida. Originally from Venezuela, this is Carrasco's first solo show in the United States.
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry- The Little Prince
