Our next stop on the Downtown Kissimmee tour brings us to the Heart Memorial Library, where you’ll find a stunning mural titled "Night and Day," created by local artist Justin "SKIP" Skipper. Spanning both sides of the building, this mural explores the contrast between night and day, using color and composition to highlight the rhythm of life along the Kissimmee lakefront.
At the center of the mural is Kissimmee’s iconic lighthouse, illuminated and surrounded by mirrored waves and clouds that stretch across both walls. The scene transitions from deep blues and purples of the night sky to soft greens, peaches, and yellows that evoke the early morning light. The lighthouse beams act as a bridge between the two times of day, cutting thru the night to reveal small glimpses of daytime life—moments you might see at the lakefront as the city wakes up.
"Night and Day" is more than just a mural—it’s a visual journey through Kissimmee’s natural beauty and local landmarks. It reflects the peacefulness of nighttime and the vibrancy of daybreak, all while honoring a structure that continues to shine as a symbol of the city.
