About the Event
Osceola Arts presents The Essential and the Tamed - Works by Marcos Carrasco in the Studio Gallery on display from September 6 through October 29. A free meet-the-artist reception will be held on Saturday, September 16, from 2-5pm.
After using animation, experimental film and CGI as his main tools, multidisciplinary artist Marcos Carrasco shifted away from computer-generated art and went back to the basics, to the essential, to sculpting and painting. During this time which began in 2020, he established relationships that influenced his new artistic production. These people (and one dog) became his new friends and family. Relationships that tamed his heart.
In The Essential and the Tamed, Carrasco takes the audience on an intimate journey into his introspection and re-emergence as an artist in the United States.
Carrasco is a graduate of Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, SCAD and UCF (MFA), and a Crealde School of Art Studio Artist. Originally from Venezuela, this is Carrasco's first solo show in the United States.
