Description:

Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings offers the best of Forever Plaid, tied up in a nifty package with a big Christmas bow on top! Filled with Christmas standards that have all been "Plaid-erized," our boys are back to do their Christmas Special.

At first, Francis, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren't sure why they've returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are audience favorites, like their riotous three-minute-and-eleven-second version of The Ed Sullivan Show – this time, featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks and The Vienna Boys Choir, as well as a Plaid Caribbean Christmas that puts the "Day-O" in Excelsis!

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS

Frankie

The leader and caretaker of the group. He gently but firmly keeps everyone on track. Confident, however, it isn’t always backed up by substance. He’s a fake it till you make it kind of guy, though he is capable! He’s asthmatic. He is really the heart of the group, not a big jokester, but he has a great deal of compassion for the music and the group. Romantic crooner and spiritual singer.

BARITONE

Vocal range top: B5

Vocal range bottom: F3

Sparky

The clown of the group, who is shown to have a heart. Very sharp and loves singing his tailor-made solos. There is a charming immaturity to him-- he could be a grown-up if he wanted to, but he sure doesn’t. He thinks he’s funnier than he is, but he definitely enjoys entertaining, even if it’s only himself. When it’s time to get serious, he can focus up, but taking things seriously just isn’t his modus operandi. Energetic and clever.

TENOR

Vocal range top: G5

Vocal range bottom: F3

Jinx

The shy, nervous one. He lives his life terrified and doesn't always remember what song comes next. He’s incredibly awkward and often has trouble finding the words he’s supposed to say-- or any words at all. He seems to be surprised they even want him there. Sparky's step-brother, he occasionally gets a nosebleed when he sings above an A. But when he is on, he is ON, and he becomes a superstar as soon as he gets in the zone.

TENOR

Vocal range top: D6

Vocal range bottom: F3

Smudge

The worrier. He worries about the props, the running order, and always assumes the audience won't like him, but it comes out of a natural and capable responsibility he takes on for the group. He is very sweet but socially awkward, and even though he could naturally be charming, he tends to speak as though he is surprised he’s found himself talking at all. Has chronic nervous stomach and is oddly reluctant to perform. Wears glasses, which hides his definite good looks and sex appeal.
